A coupon that refuses to apply is often not expired at all — your cart just has not met its minimum. The awkward part is which subtotal the threshold measures against, because it is not always the number you are looking at.

Which subtotal the threshold uses
Minimums are normally measured against the qualifying-item subtotal, before shipping and before tax. Two consequences follow. A cart containing non-qualifying products can show a healthy total while failing the threshold, and shipping charges never help you reach it. This is the most common reason a valid coupon sits there greyed out.
Post-discount effects matter too: if one discount reduces your subtotal below another coupon’s minimum, the second stops qualifying. Order of application can therefore change what applies.
Hitting a threshold without wasting money
If you are a few dollars short, adding a low-cost qualifying item can be worth it — but only when the discount you unlock exceeds what you spend to reach it. That sounds obvious and is routinely ignored; spending $8 to unlock $5 off is a loss dressed up as a saving. Do the subtraction before adding to cart.

Reading the condition before you shop
Voucher terms in your coupon section state the minimum plainly, and reading them first lets you build the cart around the offer instead of retrofitting it. For larger planned orders, it is also worth checking whether a seasonal event is close, since event pricing frequently outperforms threshold-based vouchers.
FAQ
Does shipping count toward a Temu coupon minimum?
Generally no. Thresholds are measured on the qualifying-item subtotal before shipping and tax.
Why did my coupon stop applying after I removed one item?
Removing it dropped your qualifying subtotal below the minimum. Re-adding a similar qualifying item restores eligibility.
